Father, thank You for the United States and its government. I pray for the president, the national and local government, the judges, the policemen, the business leaders and all those who are in leadership positions in this country. Please protect them from the evil that is in the world and keep them safe and free from all harm.

You have promised to bless any nation that follows after You. Help us to live quiet and peaceful lives so that we can continue to spread the Good News of the Gospel throughout our land.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dear Father, as we stop to consider Presidents’ Day, we want to praise You for the way You moved on the hearts of the founders of this Nation to create such a blessed land.  We feel the disappointment, however, of a nation that seems to be turning away from You.  O Lord, we ask that You might once again show Yourself as the Rock and Redeemer, Fortress and Defense of the American people, and in such a way that no one could deny that it was You who interceded for us.  We bring this to you for Jesus’ sake and in His name.  Amen.

Heavenly Father, we see, in the midst of all the issues we face as a nation, You are working in everything.  Thank You Lord, for not forgetting us.  Thank You for calling us Your children.  We ask that You work in the hearts of congress this week. Guide their attention to solve issues together in ways that will glorify You alone.  Let us ALL be a people that glorifies Your name in this country. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lord, thank you for providing for all our needs in this country.  As joblessness is still one of the biggest worries among so many of Your people, we turn to You for help.  Help guide our President and his cabinet as they work to address the unemployment rate and look to create jobs.  And help work in the lives of those who are unemployed to guide them to the opportunities You have planned for them.  Turn their hearts to you in prayer and remind them of the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:11 “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father God, in these times with so many jobless people and a national debt that increases exponentially, it is easy to let ourselves get discouraged.  It is easy to forget that you are in control.  We ask today Lord, that you remind us to put our faith in You so that we will not worry about what will happen tomorrow.  Help us  to show love to others as you have enabled us to do for the people of Haiti.  Help our President and his cabinet to seek You first in every decision they make this week.  Move your Spirit in their hearts and hold them accountable for when they turn from you.  Show us Your will in this land.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father we thank you today for the land You have given us to live in.  We thank you for all Your blessings, even when they aren’t as clear as we would sometimes like them to be.  We ask that you guide the leaders of our country this week in every decision they’re mulling over.  We know that You are working in everything, including our financial situations both personally and on a national level.  With Haiti suffering so much in the aftermath of the earthquake, we ask Lord, that You will help us find the best ways we can help.  We offer our prayers for them so that they will find peace in their tragedy and seek Your face. Thank you for being steadfast, loving and just.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Father God, with the growing threats of terror against our nation and our people, we ask that you watch over us and keep us safe.  Give your guidance and wisdom to the people in charge of national security so they can make wise decisions.  Please, also continue to provide jobs for those in need and teach us how to manage our finances that will be pleasing to you so we can end our economic troubles.  We pray all in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father God, while we struggle with many hard pressing issues in this country, we pray that you will continue to hold us close to you.  During the trials of a struggling economy with so many without jobs, we ask that all people would find your love and let it change their lives from within their hearts.  Watch over those who would lead this country and guide their paths and their words in order to glorify you.  Amen.
